A New Vegan Bakery Blossoms in Chelsea

Blossom Bakery Opens in Chelsea

Move over Baby Cakes, there’s a new vegan sweet spot in town. This weekend, Blossom Bakery opened in Chelsea, offering a full range of dairy free indulgences ranging from fudgy brownies (we loved the mocha walnut for $4), to coconut macaroons, biscotti, and cupcakes.

Pamela Elizabeth, who also owns the oh-so-popular Blossom restaurants in NYC, runs the bright little space (conveniently located next to the vegan Blossom du Jour Café on 9th Avenue). The inviting shop is outfitted with an open-kitchen, pops of pale yellow, and a couple tables where customers can enjoy their treats on-site.

All of the goodies are cholesterol and trans-fat free.  If you’re craving something savory, try and eggless quiche made with a tofu filling ($5), or rich croissant ($3). Those with a sweet tooth can’t go wrong with an over-sized cookie (ranging from $3 to $3.75), or a piece of cake or pie ($5 to $6.50 a slice) in flavors including pecan, German chocolate, and vanilla, to name a few. And while each treat is undeniably decadent, the feel-good ingredients may just prevent those feelings of eater’s remorse.—AMANDA LIBBY
