Blossom Into A Healthy New YearKick Off 2013 The Healthy Way at Blossom Du Jour
It’s the New Year, which means a lot of us have vowed to eat better. For many, that means cleaner eating, less meat, and less of an impact on the planet. And what better place to help hang on to our healthy resolution than Blossom Du Jour? The rapidly growing fast-food restaurant (which opened a third location opened in Hell’s Kitchen this summer) is all vegan, so you won’t see any meat, dairy or egg products. Needless to say, it’s the perfect place to get your veggie fix on the go.
But you won’t miss the meat (we promise!) as you dig into specialties like the Smokey Avocado featuring avocado, smoked tempeh, lettuce, tomato and chipotle aioli ($8.25), Midtown Melt with Cajun spiced seitan, vegan cheese, agave guacamole and lettuce ($8.25), or The Little Italy with
vegan meatballs, sauteed peppers & onions, house made marinara, v-formaggio blanco for $8.95 (to name a few).
On a kale kick? Don’t forget to try the Karmic Kale Salad with oil and sea salt rubbed kale, pumpkin seeds, cranberries, carrots and lemon drizzle. Another favorite is the Chickpea Quinoa Salad with cranberries, parsley, field greens and tahini dressing.
Of course, if you want to cleanse, you can also sip on healthy, tasty juices. BDJ’s Tru Life juices can be ordered solo or as part of a bigger cleanse. Plus, the $6.89 per bottle price tag is a bargain compared to many of the other fresh cleanses out there.—AMANDA LIBBY
