But unlike many workout crazes, the Refine Method doesn’t use any gimmicks or fads to entice clients. Instead, Jinnett has developed a circuit style workout based on everyday movements—think squatting, lunging, and pulling—to improve clients’ strength and encourage mobility. read more
In an effort to shake up my New Year workout regimen, I decided to visit Station Fitness, a Chelsea studio that specializes in “vibration training.” While the method may sound odd, it’s actually quite simple. Clients are basically led through various exercises, all while balancing on vibrating Power Plates. In a nutshell, the machines are designed to intensely work one’s muscles in a short period of time (30 minute sessions, to be exact) by making simple floor exercises—think squats and pushups—more difficult. read more
