Planning a trip can be stressful, especially when you have to worry about finding a temporary home suitable for your precious pooch. And now, with the help of Dogvacay.com, there’s no need to settle for a kennel or over-priced sitter.
The new web site, which launched earlier this month, connects pup owners with animal lovers ready to babysit for as low as $15 a night. And if leaving your canine with a stranger makes you nervous, you can rest assured Fido’s in good hands: most hosts are pre-vetted by the site and you can browse user profiles to find a perfect match. (The site also offers insurance coverage and veterinary support in case anything goes wrong.) Of course, you can schedule a meet-and-greet pre-trip and arrange for daily photo updates for additional piece of mind.
Plus, if you’ve ever wanted to rent-a-dog without the full-time commitment, this may just be your best bet.—AMANDA LIBBY
Check out Rover.com, I like it better than dogvacay, and they have a much larger marketplace. I’ve already used it as both a dog sitter and for my own two goldens. I’ve made well over $1000 for taking care of some cool dogs, and then just reused those profits for my own dogs when I recently went on out of town.
It’s a great concept, my dogs love it.
