Chef Richard Kuo definitely learned a thing or two from his time at Wylie Dufresne’s wd-50, and the five-section menu (raw, small, fish, meat and vegetables) focuses on modern and international fusion, presented in small plates ranging from $3-$16 (with the option to double-size select dishes). Let your taste buds run wild with spice-and-herb-heavy dishes like the  “prohibition ale” marinated skirt steak, octopus with sunflower seeds, mussels with hen of the woods and pumpernickel, and quail with almond and pomegranate.

For dessert, we loved the throwback ice cream sandwiches, delivered in wax paper with a hand-drawn smiley face. After a great meal, we definitely left with one on our face as well. —CASSIE KREITNER

The 1,900 square foot space—it’s outfitted with chic, reclaimed furnishings through a partnership with Brooklyn Reclamation—boasts three separate studios. Head to the downstairs “BASSment” to try out the brand’s stand-up only cycling class where the entire workout is done out of the saddle. Why? Owners Karla Misjan and Ashley Lively believe standing helps riders move to the music more easily, while allowing them to synchronize lower and upper body movements. Of course, feel free to take a rest on your seat during song transitions. (That’s exactly what I did during my 45-minute sweat session.)

Ready to realign? Head upstairs to the main floor and get your om on with a Syncyoga class. The studio offers everything from yoga basics, to restorative yoga, and more vigorous Vinyasa flow.  Or, if you really want to feel the burn, stop in for a TRX cardio circuit class for a two in one workout with cardio and weight training.

Both yoga and spinning are offered 7 days a week, from the early morning to evening. Right now TRX is only offered on Mondays and Saturdays. As for the best part, you can check it all out for yourself by getting a two-week unlimited pass for $35. Just in time for bikini season!—CHASE ROSEN

As longtime fans of its sister restaurant ABC Kitchen, we can’t get enough of this casual counterpart formerly known as Pipa. Start with a carafe of passion fruit white or hibiscus red sangria ($44) or enjoy an assortment of fruit-infused cocktails ($13-$16) like a moonshine mojito or basil jalapeño margarita at the marble bar, or snag one of the steel tables with a view of the open kitchen under the twinkle of a large chandelier.

The Mexican, Spanish and Latin-influenced menu takes the same locavore approach to cooking as ABC Kitchen, featuring many seasonal ingredients sourced from the nearby Union Square Greenmarket, including many of Vongerichten’s favorites: chiles, citrus and cilantro. The small plates are split into six categories—table snacks, light & bright, golden & crispy, masa & tortillas, wood burning grill and rice—and includes many flavorful dishes like shrimp with sizzling garlic ($13), spring pea empanadas ($6), crispy fish tacos ($13) and housemade chorizo ($7). Chef Carmellini decided to return to his French culinary roots after a 15-year hiatus, but fear not, his menu stands the test of time, inspired by traditional dishes from the southeast and southwest corners of the French countryside. What does this translate to? Think grilled octopus and smoky eggplant ($17), squid ink linguine with seafood and chorizo ($25), spring mushroom risotto with asparagus ($24), duck with smoked bacon ($30) and chicken for two ($40) made on a large rotisserie with a shiny exterior visible from the restaurant’s foyer.

Enjoy breakfast or a snack from the bakery, located just inside the entrance. A variety of pastries are made fresh daily, including croissants, muffins, and pastries, along with a selection of macaroons (we loved a delicious birthday cake flavor!) and a special blend of Stumptown coffee. Although it’s open to walk-ins all day, the restaurant is currently limited to lunch and dinner, with breakfast and brunch service to follow soon. Aptly named the Explorers collection, DVF’s latest line for little ones is filled with exotic prints and patterns like zebra, floral, and even graffiti motifs to bring out the adventurer in newborns, toddlers, and tweens up to age 14.

We were lucky enough to pre-shop the goods at the collection’s launch Wednesday night. After saying a quick hello to the wrap queen herself—unfortunately, she was suffering from an arm injury but had a chic DVF sling to cover it up, of course—we started rounding up some of our favorite finds including colorful rompers ($50), printed skinny jeans ($45) and shorts ($35), and signature, geometric patterned t-shirt dresses ($35) to name a few. We also loved the swimwear selections including this adorable bikini ($40).

And if you’re a new or expecting mom (like yours truly), you’ll be sure will to swoon over the multicolored diaper bags with matching changing table covers ($150), three piece layette sets ($45), dresses with matching bloomers ($40) and the cutest onesies ($35) and espadrilles ($20) we’ve ever seen. The recently opened space—the company already owns four Las Vegas locations—sells candy by-the-pound, handmade chocolate and treats, and the brand’s famous Couture Pops ($25), made popular by its frequent celebrity visitors. Inside the restaurant area, a retro black-and-white-tiled floor, wall-to-wall framed mirror display, and multiple crystal chandeliers create a simple-yet-trendy design.

While there’s a variety of inventive martinis and cocktails to choose from ($14-$16), consider a visit incomplete if you leave without sharing one of the 36 oz. candy-filled signature goblets ($36) like the Lollipop Passion (made with candy necklaces, lollipops, vodka, and coconut, pineapple and melon juices) or Ocean Blue (a Hypnotiq and gummy shark concoction).

The menu offers an impressive selection of sweet and savory dishes for every time of day or night, including waffles, crepes, burgers, pastas and steaks at surprisingly reasonable prices, given the area and restaurant concept. As for dessert, expect an assortment of fondues, sundaes, shakes and frozen hot chocolate, along with the “World Famous Sugar Factory King Kong Sundae,” a 24-scoop mountain of ice cream piled with 15 toppings that can serve up to 12 people ($99).
