Sugar cravings and swimsuit season can mean big trouble, but one new West Village sweet shop is offering the perfect solution. Meet Forbidden Fruit NYC, a bite-size dessert destination specializing in one thing: Chocolate covered fruit.
The bright storefront—it’s outfitted with cheerful green walls and bamboo wall panels—offers a wide selection of fruits (think classic strawberries, bananas on a stick, and apple wedges), natural Belgian chocolate (white, dark, and milk), and seasonal specialties including cherries and blueberries handpicked by local farmers.
Choose from whole fruits hand dipped on premise each morning, or sample some made to order fruit cups, mixed berries, or clementine segments drizzled in a warm chocolate of your choice. And don’t forget to top it off with some shredded coconut, toasted walnuts, or sprinkles.
Stop by Sunday through Thursday from noon to 1 am, or Friday and Saturday from noon until 4 am (late night snack, anyone?).
