When you think “trendy Meatpacking District hot spot” you probably think bottle service, long lines, and door-men on power trips. So when we stumbled into Bar 675, a cool lair beneath Dos Caminos on Hudson Street, we were pleasantly surprised, to say the least. After being greeted by a cute and friendly hipster working the door, we descended a narrow staircase leading to five unique rooms featuring games like Ms. Pac Man, billiards, Jenga, and foosball. Those cozy enclaves surround the main bar and dance floor where you’ll find a DJ spinning everything from indie rock to pop, funk and reggae. The bar boasts domestic and international beer, mixed drinks, and wine. Our favorite cocktail, the Beggerman Thief, is made with cachaca, celery, and chartreuse. If you feel like snacking, you can choose from small plates including sliders, grilled Mexican pizza, and Chocolate-Covered Bacon to name a few. As for the décor, the spot features vintage wall coverings, exposed brick and mid-century modern antiques that make you feel like you’re in the coolest basement ever. Can you think of a better locale for your next game night?
