Get the Look: Jamie Chung’s Bold Lip and Lash

MAC Senior Artist Gina Bettelli shared 5 simple ways to get Jamie Chung's bold red carpet look at home

Looking for a perfect way to update your makeup routine this spring? Well, you can’t go wrong with a bold lash and lip combo à la Jamie Chung (above). We loved how the star spiced up a black peplum dress with dramatic eyes and bright lips at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of her movie Knife Fight, and the style is surprisingly easy to re-create. In fact, MAC Senior Artist Gina Bettelli shared 5 simple steps to get the red carpet look at home. Here’s how:

1.  Paint on winged eyeliner on both eyes (while eyes are open) to get a perfect, symmetrical shape.  Lower eyes and connect the wings to the top lash line to create a seamless line.  Use MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack and the 266 Angled Brush for precise lines and long wear.

2. Apply 2 coats of MAC Haute & Naughty Mascara to top lashes to support and disguise false lashes.   Cut MAC 48 lashes in half and attach to the outer top lash line using clear eyelash adhesive (DUO is my favorite).

3. Define and cover entire lips with MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Kiss Me Quick.  This vibrant red wears like a tattoo and stains a rich, perfect shape that glides on.  Apply MAC  Girl About Town Lipstick over the lip pencil to transform the retro red into a graffiti-inspired loud pink.

4. Prep skin for extended wear and to smooth out texture using MAC Prep + Prime Skin Smoother.  Even out tone using MAC Mineralize SPF 15 Compact Foundation with the 109 MAC Buffer Brush.

5. Dust MAC Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul to cheekbones with a fluffy blush brush for a tawny-bronzed finish.
