Get The Look: Perfect Waves at Zac Posen’s Spring/Summer 2013 ShowRetro Waves in Five Simple Steps
When Naomi Campbell opened Zac Posen’s Spring/Summer 2013 show in a delicate floral cap sleeve dress (below) one thing was clear: Come Spring, Posen’s girl is all about sophisticated elegance.
Fittingly, to complement the mermaid style gowns and feminine dresses that hit just below the knee, the designer enlisted John Frieda’s Luigi Murenu to create dramatic waves inspired by Rita Hayworth.
“It’s like polished wood,” the stylist said of the hairdo, which channeled the “romantic culture of the Forties.” And surprisingly, Murenu says you can re-create the look in five simple steps. Here’s how:
To keep the crown frizz-free, apply a dime-sized amount of Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Original Formula, smoothing hair downward from the top of the head to below the ear.
Apply Frizz-Ease Curl Reviver Styling Mousse evenly through hair and brush to uniformly distribute product.
Create a severe middle part and blow dry completely, brushing hair back and away from the face to make the hair at the crown flat and smooth.
With a 1” curling iron, create a wave by wrapping small sections of hair twice around the barrel. Make sure to stop before reaching the nape of the neck in order to keep the crown flat. Brush hair out to create one uniform wave.
