LeChurro Brings Fried Dough and Cocoa To The UESLeChurro Opens on the Upper East Side
WHERE: 1236 Lexington Avenue
PRICES: start at $1.75 for filled churros
LeChurro, which opened up on Lexington Avenue this Wednesday, is a one-stop fried dough shop dishing out the Spanish specialty four different ways.
Order them up in cute to-go cones with dipping sauce (options include hazelnut chocolate, raspberry, passion fruit, and milk caramel), or pull up a chair a get a plate of chocolate dipped “bombons,” stuffed churros with sweet or savory fillings (ranging from dulce de leche to whipped cream cheese with smoked salmon), or guilt-free, mini churros drizzled with pure maple syrup, chocolate, or caramel sauce. Vegan options are available too; the fried sticks are dairy and egg free!
Wash the desserts down with classic hot cocoa—it’s made from scratch daily—or spice it up with chile, mint leaves, or sea salt. Need caffeine? There are plenty of coffee and espresso drinks as well (including a seasonal pumpkin spice latte). Salud!—AMANDA LIBBY
