Rudy’s: Not Your Average BarbershopRudy's Unisex Barbershop Offers $40 Cuts in A Sleek, Reto-Feeling Space
When you think of a typical barbershop, the words trendy and fashion forward probably don’t come to mind. But thanks to Rudy’s—a popular West Coast hair chain that came NYC this June—you can get a fuss-free, $40 cut inside a pleasantly hip space, appropriately located next to the Ace Hotel.
Feel free to make an appointment ahead of time or just walk in. You will be seated in one of ten silver and black leather barbershop chairs, lined up in front of a metal-framed, mirrored wall. When you sit down, a bowtie-clad stylist will ask about your desired style and offer expertise (trust them!).
Open 7 days a week, Rudy’s pricing starts at $17 for a buzz (they will literally shave whatever you want into your head), $40 for a short haircut and $60 for a long cut. They also do color treatments starting at $150. During your trim, you can rock out to retro tunes from the likes of Rufus Wainwright, The Beatles, and LCD Soundsystem.
Post cut, you can head to Rudy’s shop upstairs and stock up on RTH bags, tee shirts, and Krochet Kids knits to complement your look. You can also peruse a great selection of books handpicked by Karma Bookstore. Of course, if you want to maintain your ‘do, there are plenty of products from Bumble and Bumble, Kiehl’s, and Malin and Goetz as well.—CHASE ROSENRudy’s Barbershop| 14 West 29th Street| 212-532-7200
