Slide Offers Mini Burgers With Big Taste

At Slide, A Food Network Star Serves Sliders, Shakes, and Cannoli with a Twist

Sometimes, bigger isn’t always better. And Food Network’s Iron Chef   and Chopped  winner Madison Cowan is out to prove it with the menu at Slide, a new restaurant in Greenwich Village specializing in mini burgers, spiked milkshakes, and cannoli.

Sample the shareable menu inside the 50-seat restaurant decorated with local artists’ work, or enjoy your meal al fresco in the backyard garden set to open later this spring. A rotating selection of sliders range from $14-$17, including a classic version made with a top-secret meat blend and a variety of eclectic creations with unexpected ingredients like crabcake, portobello mushroom, and smoked duck.

Orders arrive three to a plate, served on custom wooden cutting boards with carved out holders for each mini burger. We loved the BBQ Pork Belly, piled high with Monterey Jack, pickled onions and fried Brussels sprouts ($15) and the SLIDE original with buttermilk fried chicken and maple bourbon pear butter sandwiched between perfectly cooked cheddar waffles ($16).

After your meal, stick around to satisfy your sweet tooth. Cannoli, served in a flight of three ($9), are fresh from Slide co-owner Anthony Fontana’s famous Stuffed Artisan Cannolis. Or, you can’t go wrong with a Peanut Punch milkshake served in a jar-like glass with vanilla bean ice cream, peanut butter, spices and whipped cream ($7), and the option to spike it with rum (for an extra $4).
