So you love to entertain at home but hate being stuck in the kitchen. If only there was a Top Chef available to give you a hand…
Well darlings, your prayers have been answered thanks to a new online service called Kitchit, which launched in New York on Tuesday after successfully starting in Cali last year.
In a nutshell, Kitchit lets users plan bespoke dinner parties with some of NYC’s best chefs (including the likes of ABC Kitchen’s Dan Kluger, Prune’s Gabrielle Hamilton, and Top Chef Master Floyd Cardoz to name a few) starting at about $40 a head for lesser-known culinary pros up to “no expense spared” for all the bells and whistles (think flowers and waiter service).
Here’s how it works: once you create an account, you can browse profiles of local chefs and sample menus by cost per person. Once you find a skilled cook that suits your fancy, you send a booking inquiry with the date and location of your event. You can even set your price, which will include the cooking, ingredients (that the chef provides), cleanup and gratuity. Then comes the fun part: users can personally work with chefs to create a customized menu. Plus, you can arrange to split the bill between guests. See you around 8?—AMANDA LIBBY
