Start With A Good Foundation:
One of the easiest ways to make the most out of your makeup is by starting with clean, healthy skin. The Luna by Foreo ($199) is a cleansing brush that will instantly unclog your pores and remove dead skin cells. Once you take off all the dirt and oil, your skin will absorb makeup better, and you won’t need to use as much product.
Don’t Forget a Primer!
If you feel like you’re constantly reapplying your makeup throughout the day, try L’Occitane’s new Comforting Cream ($45). It’s made with shea butter to calm and nourish the skin, and you’ll find that when you apply makeup to hydrated skin it will stay in place all day.
Make The Most of Your Moisturizer!
If you’re looking to make the most of your moisturizer, try applying it right after you hop out of the shower. That way, your skin will already have some moisture and you’ll end up using less product. You may also want use an all-natural body oil like Limn’s all natural body oil ($120). We find when you apply it to wet skin it will retain water better and provide longer hydration compared to creams. It’s also triple duty product; you can use it on your body, face, and even as a makeup remover so you’re getting a big bang for your buck.
Cut Off The Tops Of Tubes
Another way to extend the life of your makeup is to use every last bit of it, but at a certain point, it can be really tricky getting those last few drops out. So you can of course cut the tops off your favorite tubes with a scissor, or for a less messy option, try L’Occitane’s Magic Key ($10). This key will work on any tube product, and when you’re running low, just roll the tube over the key, and it will help you get about 5 more uses.
Keep Your Hands Off!
Another easy way to preserve your makeup is by keeping your hands off! Your hands are breeding ground for bacteria so try using clean brushes to apply makeup and your makeup will stay bacteria free.
